I am a project manager. More than half of my work is strategic in nature. The thing with project management is that it is not something that happens in isolation it’s a creative process which involves all manner of people all striving for the same goal but all wanting to get to that goal in different ways, that’s where I manage the compromise and the politics. Over the years I’ve worked with some fantastic people on some great projects.
Most of the projects that I engage in are through recommendation.
I work both in the public and private sector, although latterly my focus has mainly been in the charities sector. My drive is down to maximising benefit from a given situation. It’s the old ” Give a person a fish and they eat for a day…” maxim. Empowerment through not only distributing fishing rods but ensuring that the knowledge of managing sustainable fish stocks is in place.
